I cannot think of a better way to start than with my why? If you are interested in a story of self-exploration that birthed a line of all-natural products that not only nourish the body, but the soul come along with me.
I am by trade a licensed Master esthetician and cosmetologist so its no wonder that the inner working of skin and hair runs extremely deep for me. The fascination with the concept that combining ingredients for a specific purpose can provide marvelous results if mixed and researched properly. With my love for hair and skin care you would think that I would be more conscious of the source of ingredients that are often in our everyday products, but I was not. My family was my silver lining I found myself ill and going from specialist to specialist without a real diagnosis and my condition seemed to be worsening. To add to the stress of this my middle daughter began having these extreme rashes that would last for weeks and of course the diagnosis was a skin disorder that could not be healed.
So, I was faced with what do I do now?
If I am being completely honest which I am I must admit that there were times along the way that I felt defeated and out of options watching your child suffer and feeling like you can’t do anything about it will light a fire under your bottom like no other. It began with a study of food I learned about things I had no idea existed. Like what you ask? I will let you know! First, I had no idea that there were fruits and vegetables that were man made and not naturally grown from the earth but first created in a lab. I had to come to the realization that a lot of the fruits and vegetables I loved held no real nutritional value for my system due to the origin of its creation. Alcohol, as much as I enjoyed a glass of bubbly prosecco, I could tell that it was making me feel a sunken feeling from inside my core I accepted that it no longer resonated.
I began a new journey with meat as well I found myself less attracted to pork then beef chicken was next then onto turkey the last and oh so challenging seafood I adore it and on occasion will still indulge if I feel there will not be an adverse reaction. I learned that fluoride can calcify the pineal gland creating a roadblock for your internal energy flow. I began to become more conscious of the pure fact that dairy made me downright cranky. Along with what I was eating I switched to an all-natural soap company along with my cleaning products. It was amazing to me that this small first step had led me to a level of awareness that I was unaware existed as I made small steps the larger picture was revealed to me as important as what I put in my body was what I was putting on my body my soap, moisturizer, deodorant all played a part in my health as well. The skin is the largest organ of the body it helps regulate body temperature, protects us from the elements and microbes. The skin is also porous which means it is absorbent meaning it absorbs anything that you place onto the skin after really taking the time to research those names on the labels I was surprised that so many of the ingredients from some of my favorite beauty lines were made from waste created by other industries, I was moisturizing my body with waste.
For the sake of where I was on my journey and the itchy patches that were driving my baby up a wall I began mixing organic Shea butter, grapeseed oil, vitamin e oil, jojoba oil and essential oils of my choice and to my surprise it was working. We were finding relief from skin irritants, our feet became softer and we were smooth and sleek looking in the morning after rubbing against sheets all night, I noticed my girls taking more time to rub their bodies down and pay attention to what they say and felt when doing so, I thought to myself were onto something and I must share it with the world. Healing Treasure was born, and I could not be more elated to share the beauty of this line with you.
